- One dumb rule that I can say is about not being able to go into the shoppette wearing civilian pt gear such as basketball shorts and a sleeveless t-shirt. Seriously what does that do to hurt anyone?

Punishment Taken Too Far
- I worked in an organization that had a commander who cared more about getting promoted early than the welfare of his people. A young officer got a DUI, and it made the commander look bad in front of his boss. The commander called all of the officers (I was one at the time)to his office on a Sunday morning at 7 AM. We all loaded a van driven by the 1st Sgt, and went to get the guy out of county jail. It was bad enough that his military career was over, and that he missed a deployment due to upcoming court cases (military and civilian). The commander added additional humiliation by having his peers watch him get out of jail. The boss's attitude was as follows: You make me look bad, I'll make you look twice as bad.

- The only Rule I saw evident at the "Air Forces Bases" was " Dont turn the Air Conditioners Thermostat below 60 degrees. !! as well as this one ! :If you dont wish the maids to makeup your bunk Please leave the Do Not Distrub sign on your door!!

- Oh man, when I read this article, even though I am no longer in the Air Force, I felt it was my duty to register and respond. Its not necessarily a rule, but I really think that the military should change the way they deal with domestic situation. ITS NOT ALL THE MILITARY MEMBER'S FAULT! Geez. It seems as if the 1st sergeant and commander want to punk you in front of your spouse. That doesn't make anything better. The military should really lean towards being more neutral in these situation. You know make it clear to the member that there is 0 tolerance for domestic violence, but make sure it is domestic violence before you start accusing. I had a situation where I did some things I shouldnt have but didnt her or threaten to hurt anyone. Fast forward 2 months, they all feelin bad for me because my wife ran of with my kid and took my money and I had to go get my kid and raise her alone at 22 yrs old. I wouldnt wish what happened to me on my worse enemy.

- When I was in the army my commanders asked me to check the shock absorber of the tank so i went on it and they laugh at me for checking it
