A lot has changed!!
- There only 3 phases now, IP (In-processing phase), ITP (Initial Transition Phase), and ATP (Advanced Transition Phase). IP phase is a week of wearing blues and attending briefings. ITP is ABUs only, even after duty hours, and you cannot go off base. It is about 3 weeks long but depends on passing room inspections and open ranks (uniform of the day inspections). Both phases have a curfew on weekends. ATP you can wear civilian clothes after duty hours and can go off base; curfew on school nights and Sunday night. There is mandatory PT three times a week, unless you obtain a waiver from your MTL. Most of the requirements and standards have remained the same. The requirements for how many room inspections, and open ranks needed to "phase up" depends on the base and your squadron commander. I've heard of airmen needing volunteer hours in the local community to phase up as well.
