what we do

what we really do is go to an exsisting base, and set up/maintain that particular radar system. you perform daily inspections, anual procedures, and major maintenance. its basicly Your (the radar shop's) Radar. the schooling to get your 3 level is a pain, not gonna lie. you'll go to keesler AFB, MS for about 6 months. you'll spend about 2 months in electronic principals (EP) and then you start the actual school for radar. in that, you'll learn about 5 different radars with theory and lab. eventually someone will tell you where your base is and that will tell you what radar your working on. then you graduate and move to your base and start OJT (on the job training) and you start your CDC's. Beig a Radar tech. can sometimes be very confusing and frustrating, but you learn a lot and have fun.
