- This career field has become more demanding with the introduction of the CV-22. Don't expect an 8 hour shift, and do expect to work weekends. There may be 8 hours/day alloted for your particular shift, but between turnover and the documentation that follows the physical work... 11-12 hr shifts are more typical. The number of locations you can be assigned are extremely limited compared to the number most career fields have available. Think about it, most folks don't even know the Air Force has helos. If you do decide this is the path you want to take, you better bring your "A" game. We'll get rid of you as fast as we got you if you don't get up to speed. This is definetly a team effort, and we don't deal with stragglers very well. We are low manned, and every slot counts. Meaning if you don't get up to par fast, we'll get rid of you and open that slot for someone who can and will. If you are a hard worker, and can take a joke... by all means...come join the team.
