The SR-25 is one of the most widely used sniper rifles in the world.
The SR-25 is an American made semi-automatic sniper rifle. The weapon is manufactured by Knight’s Armament Company based in Titusville, Florida. The SR-25 sniper rifle is distinguished by its rotating bolt and a direct impingement gas system. More than 50 per cent of the SR-25’s parts are compatible with the AR-15 and M-16 rifles. The SR-25 has been in service with the U.S. military since 1990. The weapon has been used extensively in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as East Timor and Israel.
The SR-25 has grown in popularity over the two decades since it came into service with the U.S. military. Several countries around the world now use the sniper rifle, including Australia, Israel, Greece and Poland. The SR-25 rifle weighs about 10 pounds and is 44 inches long. It fires 7.62 millimeter by 51 millimeter bullets, and is fed by a 20-round detachable box magazine.
The SR-25 can also be outfitted with other components, including a sound suppressor and a swivel-based mount. The SR-25 is primarily used against human targets, but can also be fired at vehicles and buildings.
