Question: How What are dormitories (barracks) like in the military?
Answer: The U.S. military has come a long way over the years for single enlisted quarters. While all of the services are working on plans to give single rooms or single apartment-style rooms to all enlisted after basic training and job school, this is a long-term project (scheduled to be complete in the year 2020).
Whether or not you will have a roommate depends a lot on the service you join, your rank, and the amount of available dormitory (barracks) space at the base you are stationed at.
