Description:
Performs documented organizational-level, preventive and corrective maintenance, under supervision, on SSDS MK1 equipment. The SSDS MK 1 Maintenance Technician will be responsible for alignment, adjustment, configuration, removal, and replacement to the lowest replaceable unit.
Description (Con’t):
The Maintenance Technician will perform diagnostic testing and system validation of the LAN and associated equipment as described in system or equipment technical documentation. The SSDS MK 1 Maintenance Technician prepares SSDS MK 1 for tactical, training, or testing operations and monitors system performance during operations. SSDS MK 1 equipment consists of the OK-644(V) Command Control Group, Single and Multi LAN Access Unit (LAU) Cabinets (SLCs and MLCs), Large Screen Projectors,
Description (Con’t):
Fiber Optic Data Distribution and ETHERNET interfaces, and associated File Servers and Application Processors. Personnel holding this NEC will direct or perform maintenance activities that may affect the operating system such as using UNIX (HP-UX) networking utilities and commands needed to support the maintenance philosophy.
