NEC DT-8707 Field Service Dental Technician
Assists dental officer in providing dental treatment in the field. Provides technical and administrative assistance to support the mission and functions of Navy and Marine Corps field units. Maintains organizational level ADAL'S. Prepares, reviews and coordinates logistic requirements. Ensures the observance and the practice of field sanitary measures. Augments and assists medical personnel in providing emergency medical care to field or combat casualties to include assistance with medical evacuation procedures.
Assign NEC to inactive duty Naval Reservists upon successful completion of Field Medical Service School (FMSS) under the NEC Attainment Program (NECAP). Training program consists of five Inactive Duty Training Travel (IDTT) periods of didactic training and 17 days annual training (AT) (didactic/practical) at training platform(s) as determined by Commander, Naval Surface Reserve Force (N7), FMSS Camp Lejeune and FMSS Camp Pendleton. Training should be completed within a 12 month period.
