The NAVSTA Rota Child and Youth Programs (CYP) offers childcare for children ages 6 weeks to 18 years of age. Programs offered under Child and Youth Programs include: Child Development Center- 6 weeks to five years, School Age Care - Kindergarten to 6th grade and Youth Activities - Open recreation and youth sports.

The following is a summary of the three different types of care options offered at the CDC:

* Full Day Program - Hours: Monday - Friday 6:30am- 5:30 pm, closed on American Holidays. Due to limited spaces, we maintain a waiting list for some ages. Active duty single parents and dual military families have first priority.
* Part Day Enrichment Program - A program designed to provide excellent care and the opportunity for the child to experience a variety of activities in a fun learning program. Program offered Mon, Wed and Fri and is available to children 3 - 5 years of age.
* Spanish Immersion Program - This part-day program is designed to provide the children an active, interesting environment where they will be immersed in the Spanish language. The program follows the same early childhood "developmental curriculum" used throughout the center, only conducted in Spanish to immerse the children in the sounds and symbols of the language. This program is for children 3-5 years of age and is offered Mon-Fri 8:30-11:45.

Fees for all programs are based on total family income. For hourly care, a flat hourly fee is charged.

Registration is accepted for any of the programs at the Child Development Center (CDC), Building 1963, between 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Advance pre-registration is accepted for families PCSing to Rota and expectant families 90 days in advance and can be accessed through the MWR website under Child and Youth Programs. Presentation of child's updated shot record, birth certificate or passport, and parents current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES) are required at time of registration. Single and dual active duty must present a Family Care Plan.

Hourly care is offered on a space availability and reservations can be made two weeks in advance. This care is available to children 3 months to 6 years of age and is limited to 17 hours a week. Hourly care is available from 9:00 a.m. - 15:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Drop-ins will also be accepted same day with prior registration if space is available. This service may facilitate care during medical and dental appointments.

The School Age Care Program (SAC) provides a safe, supervised, healthy and age appropriate environment for Before and After School care during the school year and during school breaks (i.e. Spring, Summer and Winter). Registration is accepted at SAC or can be completed at the CDC.

The Youth Activities Center includes Jams (Youth Open Recreation)and the Edge (Teen Open Recreation). It is co-located in housing with DGF Elementary and High School.
