Like the other services, the Marines offer a variety of programs for qualified enlisted Marines to finish college and earn a commission as a Marine Corps officer. Unmarried Marines can apply to attend the Navy Academ y, under the Marine Corps option. However, this program is highly competitive. Enlisted Marines who have or attain a college degree can apply to attend Officer Candidate Class (OCC).
The most common way that enlisted Marines complete their college degree and become commissioned is through the Marine Corps Enlisted Commissioning Education Program.
Enlisted Marines who meet the eligibility criteria within their MOS (job) can also apply to receive a commission as a warrant officer. After eight years as a warrant officer, you can apply to be commissioned as a Limited Duty Officer (LDO).
