Will the military pay to relocate my family for job school?

By , About.com Guide

Question: Will the military pay to relocate my family for job school?
Answer: Depends upon the length of the training, at a single location. Generally, if the training (at a single base) exceeds 180 days, the military considers it a PCS (permament change of station) move and will pay to relocate family members.

However, one may not be allowed to reside off-base, or in military family housing with their family members right away.

Each of the services place certain restrictions on the personal freedoms and liberty-time of members undergoing initial training (Tech School, AIT, OSUT, or A-School).
