The causes for rejection for appointment, enlistment, and induction (without an approved waiver) are an authenticated history of:
Uncorrected deformities of the skull, face, or mandible (754.0) of a degree that would prevent the individual from wearing a protective mask or military headgear are disqualifying.
Loss or absence of the bony substance of the skull (756.0 or 738.1) not successfully corrected by reconstructive materials, or leaving residual defect in excess of 1 square inch (6.45 centimeter (cm)2) or the size of a 25 cent piece is disqualifying.
