Definition: (DOD) An individual who has a statutory requirement imposed by the Military Selective Service Act of 1967 or Section 651, Title 10 United States Code to serve on active duty in the armed forces or to serve while not on active duty in a reserve component for a period not to exceed that prescribed by the applicable statute.
