Fiscal Year 2010 Military Pay Charts

Enlisted military members are paid a clothing allowance to pay for maintenance and replacement of required uniform items. The allowances shown here are for Fiscal Year 2010 and are effective from October 1, 2009 through September 30, 2010.

The Obama administration has released an overview of their Fiscal Year 2010 budget plan. Obama's proposal calls for a 2.9 percent increase in basic pay (over 2009 basic pay rates) for military members, effective January 1, 2010.

The Overseas Housing Allowance (OHA) for military members stationed outside of the United States works a little differently than the stateside housing allowance.

U.S. Military members are paid a monthly, tax-free allowance, called "BAS," or "Basic Allowance for Subsistence, which is designed to pay for the food they eat.

CONUS COLA (Cost of Living Allowance) is designed to partially compensate military members for non-housing costs, when stationed in high-cost areas of the United States.
