Basic Job Description
As an essential member of the Army's weapons maintenance team, the Avenger System Repairer is primarily responsible for performing and supervising field and sustainment level maintenance on the Avenger System, a lightweight, highly mobile and transportable surface-to-air missile/gun weapon system that provides short-range air defense protection against air and land attacks.
Duties performed by Soldiers in this MOS include:
Performs quality control measures. Performs maintenance adjustments on test equipment. Serves on maintenance and inspection teams. Inspects, tests and adjusts components to specific tolerances. Determines shortcomings and malfunctions in electronic, electrical and cryogenic assemblies, modules and circuit elements using system associated equipment. Removes and replaces defective line replaceable units, including interconnecting cables. Determines serviceability and disposition of assemblies, subassemblies and parts. Removes and installs servomotor/Azimuth Gear Assembly. Prepares maintenance and supply forms.
Supervises lower rank soldiers and provides technical guidance to the soldiers in the accomplishment of their duties. Provides technical assistance to supported units. Installs equipment modifications.
