Job Description: Aviation Information Systems (AIS) Specialist responsibilities encompass a broad spectrum of digital network and information systems operation, installation, and maintenance in support of Marine Corps and Naval Aviation. The AIS specialists are accountable for the deployment of tactical local and wide area networks to any theater of operation (from garrison to shipboard to forward deployed joint-service environments). Other responsibilities include network administration, design, and installation, maintaining and repairing data communication links, fiberoptic and tactical fiber-optic cabling. AIS specialist support myriad computer and network operating systems to include: UNIX, Windows, and TCP/IP. Responsibilities include the maintenance and repair of aircraft mission planning systems, aircraft maintenance systems and field deployable SATCOM equipment. These Marines will also be able to analyze and evaluate system output; design and manipulate database information to produce non-routine reports; work with application and software programs in order to access and manage data stored in the computer's memory or data base file(s). Administrative tasks include but are not restricted to develop a monthly AIS utilization schedule and maintaining a ma9netic media/software library.
Job Requirements:
(1) Must possess a EL score of 115 or higher.
(2) Complete the Aviation Logistics Tactical Information Systems (ALTIS) Course, NSCS, At.hens, GA.
(3) Must have a secret security clearance.
(4) Must be a U.S. citizen.
(5) Must. have normal color percept.ion.
