MOS 1372 - - Assault Breacher Vehicle

Job Description: The ABV/JAB operator is a NMOS for PMOS 1371, Combat Engineer, and 1345, Heavy Equipment operator. The ABV is a full, tracked, engineer vehicle designed for in-stride breaching of minefields and complex obstacles. The JAB is a full tracked, engineer vehicle designed for assault bridging. The ABV/JAB will operate as part of the combined arms task force and be assigned to and employed by combat engineers. Job tasks associated with operations of the ABV/JAB will be those tasks required to drive the unit, operate the breaching/bridging systems, provide protection, and communicate. Organizational maintenance tasks will also be included.

Job Requirements:

(1) Must be qualified in MOS 1345 or 1371.

(2) Must possess a MM score of 95 or higher.

(3) Complete the Basic Combat Engineer Course, Marine Corps Engineer School, Camp Lejeune, NC.

(4) Complete the ABV/JAB operator course at Ft. Knox, KY.

(5) Non-MOS qualified Reserve Marines unable to attend the regular formal school training and complete the required on-the-job training are ineligible to attain this MOS.

(6) Must have vision correctable to 20/20 and depth perception (third degree binocular fusion).

(7) Must be a minimum height of 66 inches.

(8) Must meet the licensing requirements of TM 11275-15/4.

(9) Completion of the Engineer Operations Chief Course is required upon promotion to GySgt.
