0351, Assaultman

Summary. The assaultman is responsible for the tactical employment of the shoulder-launched multipurpose assault weapon (SMAW), and the Dragon medium assault antitank weapon. Assaultmen provide antibunker and antiarmor fire in support of the rifle squads/platoons/companies and the infantry battalion, and are located in the weapons platoons and weapons companies of the infantry battalion. Noncommissioned officers are assigned as gunners and team, squad, and section leaders.

Requirements/Prerequisites

(1) GT score, of 80 or higher.

(2) Complete the Antitank Assaultman Course at the School of Infantry, MCB Camp Pendleton, CA, or MCB Camp Lejeune, NC, or upon completion of appropriate MOJT.

(3) Must have normal color vision, and vision of 20/200, correctable to 20/20.
