The World War II Victory Medal is a Bronze medallion 1 3/8 inches in width. The female, figure Liberation is shown with her head facing the left as though looking to the dawn of a new day, and her right foot resting on a Roman war god’s helmet. In her right hand is a broken sword with the blade that was broken off in her left hand. Slightly visible behind the war helmet, there is a rising sun with rays shining upward. The words "WORLD WAR II" are immediately below the center. The words inscriptions "FREEDOM FROM FEAR AND WANT" and "FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND RELIGION" are on the reverse side separated by a palm branch with the words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA 1914 1945" circling them.
