The Women's Army Corps Service Medal is a Bronze medallion 1 1/4 inches in diameter. Superimposed on a sheathed sword crossed with oak leaves and a palm branch is a bust of Pallas Athene’s profile facing the right. The words "WOMEN'S” are in the upper portion of the contour of the medal and the words "ARMY CORPS" is in the lower portion. A scroll with the words "FOR SERVICE IN THE WOMEN'S ARMY AUXILIARY CORPS" (in four lines) is on the reverse side within an arrangement of thirteen stars. An eagle with it’s wings outstretched is perched on top of the scroll, and in the lower section of the medal the date “1942 – 1943”. In the center of the scroll are the letters “US”.
