Military Outstanding Voluntary Service Medal

The Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal is a Bronze medallion 1 3/8 inches in diameter. On the medal’s front are shown five interlaced annulets with a five-pointed star overlying. The star and annulets are surrounded by a wreath of laurel which follows the outline of the medal. At the top of the reverse of the medal are the words "OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEER SERVICE" and at the bottom the words, "UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES". A sprig of oak with three leaves and two acorns is displayed between the inscriptions.
