Indian Campaign Medal

The Indian Campaign Medal is a Bronze medal with a diameter of 1 ¼ inches. Facing left on the medal is a Indian mounted on a house, with a spear in his right hand and a war bonnet on his head. The words, “INDIAN WARS” are above the Indian. Below the Indian is a buffalo head with arrow heads on both sides rounding the sides to complete a circle. An eagle with wings outstretched is on the reverse side. The eagle is perched on a trophy made of a cannon, six rifles and four standards, an Indian shield, quiver of arrows and three spears, a Cuban machete and a Sulu kris. Beneath the trophy are the words "FOR SERVICE". Above the eagle, are the words "UNITED STATES ARMY" and thirteen stars complete the circle at the bottom.
