The Army of Occupation of Germany Medal is a Bronze medallion 1 1/4 inches in diameter. A profile of General John J. Pershing is surrounded by four five-pointed stars. The words "GENERAL JOHN J. PERSHING" are inscribed to the lower left of the profile. To the right of the profile is an unsheathed sword, point up, within a laurel wreath, and the dates “1918” and “1923” within the wreath. An American Bald eagle with wings outspread is displayed on the reverse side perched on the Castle Ehrenbreitstein and encircled by the words "U.S. ARMY OF OCCUPATION OF GERMANY" and three stars at the bottom.
