Army Recruiting Command

The U.S. Army Recruiting Command, based in Fort Knox, Ky., is the agency charged with recruiting and processing officers and enlisted personnel into both active Army divisions and the Army Reserve.

Over 8,000 recruiters work in approximately 1,700 recruiting stations worldwide.

To be assigned as an Army recruiter, an individual must demonstrate a strong familiarity with the opportunities the branch offers and the process of enlistment. Soldiers who wish to become recruiters must attend the Recruiting and Retention School, at Fort Jackson, S.C., to receive the necessary training.
