Army Enlistment and Re-Enlistment Bonus Charts

By Rod Powers, About.com

The Army offers monetary enlistment and re-enlistment bonuses to encourage soldiers to enlist or to re-enlist into Military Occupation Specialties (MOS) with significant shortages.

Enlistment bonuses are offered to new (non-prior service) recruits who volunteer to enlist into Army jobs that are showing a significant shortage in the "first-termer" ranks. Additionally, the Army offers a "broken service," or "prior service" enlistment bonus for those who have separated from the Army (or another service), but wish to re-enlist into the Army, if they possess a military skill that is considered "critical."

Re-enlistment bonuses are offered for Army personnel who possess critical Army skills (or are willing to re-train into a "shortage" MOS).
