To register for school, students need the following:current immunization records, school transcripts, and proof of residency. Special needs students, supply a current individualized education program (IEP), psychological evaluation, and medical records, if applicable. Please forward these records to the appropriate school as soon as possible to expedite the registration process.
Pocono Mountain School District does not provide extended day care services.
Bus transportation is provided by the school and comes on-post through the family housing area and to the Youth Center.
There are a few alternatives to public education for those assigned to/residing on Tobyhanna Army Depot. There are two charter schools located within 15 miles of the installation. There is a private school, Monsignor McHugh Elementary School,grades K - 8, located approx 10 miles from the installation. Please contact the School Liaison Officer for more information regarding these schools. If you live outside the Pocono Mountain School District, the School Liaison Officer at the installation will assist you with locating a private/alternative educational environment for your child.
For adults, there are a variety of education options, including community college, several local 4-year colleges and universities, and vocational and technical schools.
Military who are permanently attached to the depot may use the facilities at the Site Education Office which includes distance learning opportunities.
