The Fort Monmouth Family Housing Office is located in the One Stop Housing Building 270, Allen Avenue Fort Monmouth, NJ 07703-5108, telephone: (732) 532-3567; DSN 992-3567.

Army personnel should report first to the Fort Monmouth Military Personnel, Building 918, to obtain a Housing Application. One copy of PCS orders to Fort Monmouth and DD Form 1746 (Housing Application) verified are required to In-process a soldier into family housing.

You may apply for government quarters while in a leave status, but you may not be assigned quarters until you have signed in to the installation for duty.Army Personnel will need a copy of Leave Orders, DA Form 31 to have your name placed on the Family Housing Waiting List. Personnel from other branches of service will need DA Form 137 and clearance papers from your previous duty station.

Your name will be placed on the appropriate waiting list, by grade and bedroom requirement, based upon your date of departure from your previous duty station, providing you apply for housing within 30 days of signing into Fort Monmouth. There is usually a 1 to 3 month waiting list for housing. If you wish to reside off-post, you must submit a memorandum with your signature and endorsed by your Commanding Officer, requesting authorization to live off-post.

All soldiers may reside off post. Before obtaining off post housing you must report to the CHRRS Office. The CHRRS Specialist provides detailed briefing and packets on locating adequate housing in the Fort Monmouth area. For soldiers whose financial resources are too limited to pay initial rent and security deposit, consult with the AER Officer at Army Community Service, Building 812, on possible assistance.
