By Georgia law, children must be 4 years old on or before 1 September to enter pre-kindergarten. For kindergarten, children must be 5 years old on or before September 1, and 6 years old on or before September 1 to enter the first grade.
To register your child for school you must show a certified birth certificate, immunization records on Georgia state forms, vision, hearing, and dental screening, social security card, and the previous year report card if transferring from another school.
