Air Force Recruiting Service


The Air Force Recruiting Service, based at Randolph Air Force Base in Texas, oversees various programs designed to recruit personnel into the U.S. Air Force.

Individuals with no prior military service are actively recruited into the service, with an emphasis in recent years on linguists, health care professionals and combat controllers. In all, there are more than 150 enlisted career opportunities. Air Force recruiters also seek out candidates for Officer Training School at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama.

The Air Force Recruiting Service comprises roughly 3,270 active-duty and 305 civilian recruiter and support personnel. The service uses business savvy as well as marketing and sales techniques to promote the challenges and opportunities that service in the U.S. Air Force presents.

More than 1,400 recruiting offices are located across the country, and recruiters also can be found in England, Germany, Italy, Japan, Puerto Rico and Guam.

Those who volunteer or are nominated to serve as Air Force recruiters are trained at the Air Force Recruiting School at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas.
