2E653. Qualification in and possession of AFSC 2E633. Also, experience is mandatory in functions such as installing, troubleshooting, and repairing telephone switching systems; data transmission media systems; telephone and data circuitry equipment to include T-carrier, fiber-optic modems, and multiplexers and associated hardware equipment.
2E673. Qualification in and possession of AFSC 2E653. Also, experience is mandatory in functions such as performing and supervising installation, maintenance, and repair of these systems.
Other: The following are mandatory as indicated:
For entry into this specialty:
1. Normal color vision as defined in
AFI 48-123, Medical Examination and Standards.
2. Qualification to operate a government vehicle according to
AFI 24-301, Vehicle Operations.
For entry, award, and retention of these AFSCs, physical ability to perform climbing duties, and freedom from fear of heights and claustrophobia.
For award and retention of AFSCs 2E633/53/73, eligibility for a Secret
security clearance, according to
AFI 31-501, Personnel Security Program Management.
