Yokota's Child Development Centers (CDC) have two facilities caring for Yokota's children six-weeks to six years old. Developmentally appropriate activities are planned and provided for at each age level. Children also are introduced to the Japanese culture around them. The program is certified by the Department of Defense and accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children and provides a safe, healthy environment for children. Hourly care is offered on a space available basis.
The order of priority for the CDCs follows the below order:
Dual military families
Single military parents
Dual DoD civilian families
Single DoD civilian parents
Military or DoD civilians on orders with a civilian spouse who is employed or a full time student
Military or DoD civilians with an unemployed spouse.
Since there is waiting list for full day care, it is best to contact the Child Development Program at your current location and obtain a DD Form 2606, fill it out and Fax it to DSN 315-225-5291. The date the form is received at the Child Development Center will be the date used to determine placement on the waiting list. For more information, contact the main CDC at DSN 1-315-225-8192.
Fees for child care programs are based on total family income.
Family Child Care (FCC) is a home day care program administered by Services to meet the needs of working parents who prefer a smaller group or home environment for their children. Full time, part time, hourly, weekends, extended hours and school age care is available. For more information, contact the FCC office at DSN 315-225-8192.
A listing of family child care providers residing in military housing is available at the Airman and Family Readiness Center.
