Peterson AFB provides housing for personnel assigned to Peterson AFB, Cheyenne Mountain AS and Schriever AFB. There is a total of 491 family housing units. All units are equipped with stove, refrigerator, dishwasher and garbage disposal. There are also hook-ups for a washer and dryer. There is an 18 to 36 month waiting list for on-base housing due to a limited inventory of housing units and on-going renovation projects. Housing is available at the Air Force Academy ONLY when it is excess to the needs at that installation. You must be on the Peterson waiting list before you can apply for the Academy housing. You must decide within 30 days of arrival which list you wish to remain on. You can only be on one list. It is important to remember that you will only be placed in one category on the Peterson AFB housing list (e.g., Company Grade or Field Grade Officer housing list).

The effective date of application is the first day of the month prior to the month in which the applicant states he or she will arrive at the gaining installation - this is the actual reporting or sign-in month. If the applicant arrives at Peterson AFB prior to or later than the stated arrival month, the effective date of application is adjusted.
APLICATION FOR AIR FORCE ACADEMY HOUSING. Submit your application to the Peterson Housing Flight. Within 30 days following your arrival, you must indicate whether you wish to remain on the list for Peterson housing or transfer to the Academy waiting list for Academy housing.
