Pope Air Force Base is home to the 43rd Airlift Wing and two tenant units: the 23rd Fighter Group and the 18th Air Support Operations Group.
The population of Pope AFB is approximately 4,700 military personnel and 1,150 dependents. The civilian work force includes approximately 315 General Schedule (GS) and Wage Grade (WG), 190 Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF), and 150 contractor personnel.
