McGuire AFB is home to two large Child Development Centers. Both Centers are located on the main base, and are approximately three blocks apart. The centers are open from 6:30 am until 5:30 pm each weekday. Both CDC's are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

CDC 1 on Third Street is an infant toddler center for children 6 weeks to age 3. CDC 2 on Pudgy Circle is for preschool age children. Both centers are primarily for full day care. CDC 2 also has part day preschool, before and after school and summer programs for Kindergarten age children.

Both Centers also offer Give Parents a Break programs (funded by the Air Force Aid Society).

There may be a long waiting list for the youngest children. As soon as you know you are coming to McGuire, please fax your application to 609-754-3659 or call 609-754-2966 for more information.

The Family Child Care Program provides the McGuire community with an alternative to other child development programs and for evening, weekend and shift care. The FCC program offers quality childcare in a home environment. This may be a good choice for parents who want their child cared for by the same provider each day and in a small group setting.

FCC Providers are military spouses living in the McGuire Housing area who have been through training and certification requirements before becoming licensed. All FCC providers are regularly inspected by Safety, Military Public Health, Fire Prevention and the FCC staff.

Current FCC provider listings are available at the CDCs, and the FCC office at 609-754-5458.

The School Age Program, which offers quality Before/After School care and full day programs in the summer and during school breaks, is located in the Youth Center in Falcon Courts North. The School Age program is open to children ages 612 (must have completed kindergarten) and is accredited through the National After School Association (NAA). The Youth Center is a short walk from elementary schools.
