The 1st Special Operations Medical Group (1 SOMDG) provides exceptional preventive and curative health services to our war fighters and their families. The clinic provides base medical support to over 8,300 active duty personnel, has over 17,500 Prime enrolled beneficiaries, and is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. They also provide worldwide, forward deployed medical support during combined, joint and service special operations missions.
Nearby at Eglin AFB, the 96th Medical Group Hospital is one of the largest and busiest in the Air Force. The 96 MDG, which serves a population of approximately 77,000, is accredited by the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. They provide specialty and inpatient services, including medical, surgical, and obstetrical care. Complete ancillary support services are also available.
