The Aerobic Fitness componant points are derived from a one and one-half mile timed run, or the Air Force Ergo-Cycle Test.

The only people who are allowed to do the Ergo-Cycle test are those who are medically excused from running. "Medically Excused" means a medical profile, prohibiting running, issued by a military doctor.

Aerobic Fitness is one part of the Air Force's total fitness test program. The other three parts of the program consist of:

  • Body Composition
  • Push-Ups
  • Crunches
