The Department of Defense has announced its recruiting statistics for the active and reserve components for April 2008 (the seventh month of FY 2008). A "Fiscal Year" runs from October through September.
All of the active duty branchesbranches met or exceeded their recruiting goals for the month.
Active Duty Recruiting Statistics for April 2008:
- Army: Recruited 5,681 out of a goal of 5,650 (101 percent)
- Navy: Recruited 2,905 out of a goal of 2,905 (100 percent)
- Marine Corps: Recruited 2,233 out of a goal of 1,577 (142 percent)
- Air Force: Recruited 2,435 out of a goal of 2,435 (100 percent)
On the Reserve side, five of the six reserve componants met or exceeded their recruiting goals.
Reserve Recruiting Statistics for April 2008:
- Army National Guard: Recruited 6,201 out of a goal of 5,538 (112 percent)
- Army Reserve: Recruited 3,520 out of a goal of 2,937 (120 percent)
- Navy Reserve: Recruited 831 out of a goal of 831 (100 percent)
- Marine Corps Reserve: Recruited 459 out of a goal of 459 (100 percent)
- Air National Guard: Recruited 875 out of a goal of 672 (130 percent)
- Air Force Reserve: Recruited 681 out of a goal of 680 (100 percent)
