| Active Duty Personnel $ave Big During Special Promotion at Disney's Swan & Dolphin Hotel | |
|
Orlando - Walt Disney World, historically very reluctant to discount any of its resort properties because of overwhelming demand, is offering an incredible rate of $129 per room, per night for active duty members of the US armed forces at the award winning Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Hotel.
The 2,267 rooms at the Swan & Dolphin, located within the Disney EPCOT resort area, usually start at over $300 per night. The Swan and Dolphin is famous for the statutes that tower from its roof. It is one of the most architecturally distinctive hotel properties in the world with its two dolphin statues that stand six stories high perched atop its roof as well as its two swan statutes that stand five stories high. Add a 54-foot clamshell that serves as a fountain, and you have a hotel property that you will never forget!
This special offer, which is available for a limited time and may not be available at all times, is for active duty personnel only. Proof of active duty status must be supplied at check-in. To give you an idea of how special this rate is, a random check of room availability and costs during August of 2001 showed a standard rate of over $300 per night. If you are a member of a particular national auto club you would pay $225, but active duty military personnel pay only $129!

The Swan & Dolphin is located adjacent to Disney's BoardWalk entertainment district. It is also only a short distance from Disney's Animal Kingdom, Disney's-MGM Studios, and of course the Magic Kingdom. Complimentary transportation to all Walt Disney World parks and early access to selected Disney theme parks on selected days are also additional benefits of staying at the Swan & Dolphin.
It is not only the architecture that will "wow" you. The Swan & Dolphin houses 17 restaurants and lounges, two health clubs, four tennis courts and all kinds of water fun. As far as the water activities, for the serious swimmer there is a lap pool, but for the kids there are hours if not days of fun - you could make a vacation at the Swan & Dolphin and never leave the property. The highlight of the water activities is a three-acre grotto pool complete with a two story high waterfall and various water slides. Last but not least, the property has its own white sand freshwater beach, complete with paddleboats, for those who might like a little slower pace.
To get an idea of the size and scope of the Swan & Dolphin and what it offers, it is better to think of the resort as a

campus, a college campus, not a hotel. At Camp Dolphin, for kids from age four to twelve, there is a fully supervised program that features arts, crafts, movies, a video arcade and even a special dinner. Camp Dolphin, with its licensed counselors, gives parents the time to take in the six nearby 18-hole championship golf courses, award-winning restaurants like Shula's Steak House or a massage or aromatherapy.
On various days, selected restaurants will offer an opportunity to have breakfast or dinner with a bunch of your favorite Disney characters. There is Nintendo available in every room and even at the end of the day, the fun doesn't end: kids can choose their own Disney bedtime story on the Kids Storyline. Simply by dialing a dedicated number, they can choose from a selection of stories to hear over the phone before going to bed. Kids are so important, they've even developed a special Kids Survey, asking children how they liked their stay.
