Welcome to the Boot Camp Challenge, an interactive story designed to take you through some of the thrills and spills of military basic training.

To refresh your memory, or if this is your first time with Joe, you may wish to work your way through the previous episodes (it's not a good idea to be thrown into boot camp on the second day of training. Almost guaranteed to get you noticed).

Getting In

You look up at the massive building in front of you. It looks pretty good, actually -- kind of like an apartment house, or a large college dormitory. The building is fairly new, manufactured mostly of red brick. It's three stories tall with stairways situated on each side of the building. Looking at the stairs, you hope that you won't be on the 3rd floor. That would get to be a drag going up and down those stairs all the time.

Staff Sergeant Fear bellows (why can't he ever talk in a normal tone of voice?), "You animals are on the 3rd bay. That's all the way up these stairs. All animals start on the 3rd bay. Assuming we can housebreak you, in time you'll move to the second bay, and then the first.....I have my doubts, however, that you can ever be housebroken."

Staff Sergeant Fear continues, "When I tell you to, I want you to grab your bags, double-time it up the stairs, and find an empty bunk to stand in front of."

"You have 45 seconds! Move it, you lunks, move it!"

Massive pandemonium breaks out as 60 freshly-bald recruits all try to make it up the stairs at the same time. Feet, hands, and bags are flying everywhere. Bag in hand, you're smack dab in the middle of the biggest riot you've ever imagined.
