U.S. Military Poll

The About.comOverseas Customs

In most cases, U.S. Military personnel stationed overseas are encouraged (not required) to abide by local customs.

In some places, however (like Saudi Arabia), U.S. Military personnel are required to abide by certain local customs when off base, even when other folks (such as tourists) are not under the same restrictions.

Do you think U.S. Military personnel deployed overseas should be required to abide by local customs, even when the host government does not require other westerners (such as tourists) to comply?
