Officials Warn Terrorists May Retaliate: Senior administration officials and lawmakers warned yesterday that terrorists might strike in retaliation for the collapse of the Taliban in Afghanistan, amid reports that Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network may have been trying to develop chemical and nuclear weapons. Tom Ridge, the director of homeland security, said "it makes a great deal of common sense to conclude" that supporters of al Qaeda might renew their attacks on the United States.
