AAFES Won't Stock McVeigh Book: The Army and Air Force Exchange Service recently joined the list of U.S. stores that have banned a book about Oklahoma City terrorist Timothy McVeigh. In an effort to distance themselves from the controversial book, "American Terrorist," corporate heads at AAFES have made buying the non-fiction book difficult without crossing into outright censorship. "It’s a corporate decision not to put the book on the shelf because of the controversy carrying this book might spark," said Army Maj. Mitch Edgar, the AAFES spokesman in Europe. "It would carry such a contentious issue with it." |
