Army Training Rounds Land on School Roof: WÜRZBURG, Germany — U.S. troops at the Grafenwöhr Training Area mistakenly shot two 25 mm aluminum training rounds onto the roof of a German elementary school Tuesday afternoon. No one was injured in the accident, which occurred about 3:30 p.m. in the town of Kirchenthumbach, located north of the training grounds. About 10 tiles on the school’s roof were destroyed. At least two rounds fired from a Bradley fighting vehicle landed in the town, according to U.S. military officials. A news release from 7th Army Training Command said one of the rounds was recovered by the German police and was identified by the U.S. Army and German safety officials as a training round.
