Aid Packages Continue to Pile Up: Tons of food and other supplies continue to pile up in Termez, Uzbekistan, as humanitarian aid workers wait for the border with Afghanistan to open. Barges loaded with food and tents were supposed to have crossed the Amudarya river this weekend, but the trip was canceled for the second time in as many weeks. Even with the reported fall of Mazar-e Sharif, a crucial supply point in northern Afghanistan, aid workers are unsure when the aid convoys can begin.
