Flu Vaccine Shortage: A nationwide shortage of influenza vaccine means some military members stationed overseas will not be getting annual vaccinations until new supplies are received next month. Following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, military branches are giving flu vaccine to only certain categories of troops. "We must balance our prioritization between military readiness and protection of our high-risk population," Maj. James Law, a Pacific Air Forces spokesman in Hawaii said. "Priority is given to forward-deployed forces to ensure mission readiness." Within PACAF, Law said all forces stationed in South Korea are considered forward-deployed.
