OBLIGATED SERVICE REQUIREMENTS There is no single set of obligated amount of service required to take Navy-wide advancement exams or to accept advancement to paygrades E1 to E6 Must have two years remaining of obligated service to accept appointment to a CPO paygrade
EXAMINATIONS Locally prepared testing NETPDTC exams Navy-wide advancement examinations are required for advancement to all petty officer paygrades CPO must take Navy-wide advancement examinations and be chosen by Navy-wide CPO Selection Board, SCPO/MCPO chosen through Selection Board only
