The following medical conditions could result in initiation of a Medical Evaluation Board (MEB), and could result in medical discharge:

Ears

Mastoidectomy. Followed by chronic infection requiring frequent or prolonged specialized medical care.

Infections of ears or mastoids. When satisfactory performance of duty is prevented or because of the requirement for extensive and prolonged treatment.

Meniere’s syndrome. Recurring attacks of sufficient frequency and severity as to require frequent or prolonged medical care.

Hearing

Hearing loss which precludes safe, effective performance of duty despite use of hearing aid.
