Marines are required in billets around the world in which proficiency in a foreign language is critical to mission performance. The majority of these billets are in intelligence and cryptologic fields, but also include foreign area officers (FAO's), joint and security assistance billets and exchange programs. Current foreign language billet sponsors are listed in enclosure (1).
