MOS 4010, Data Systems Software Officer (II/III)
a. Summary. Data systems software
officers study, survey, and analyze objectives,
policies, procedures, organization, and administrative work flow for data systems. Manage computer
software, data communications devices, and related
peripherals while ensuring interoperability and integration. Perform and supervise tasks
necessary to manage data communications, computer software,
and documentation required to support the development, integration,
and implementation of information management
systems.
b. Requirements/Prerequisites
(1) Complete the Marine Corps formal course of study for
data systems software officers conducted at the Marine
Corps Communications Electronics School, 29
Palms, CA.
(2) This MOS may only be assigned to individuals holding
a primary MOS in occupational field 40.
