Summary. Aviation ordnance trainees train for an aircraft ordnance MOS through completion of an AO (A) School. Follow-on AO(C) courses will qualify a MOS 6511 Marine for either MOS 6531 or MOS 6541 depending on the specific training track assigned.


(1) GT score of 105 or higher.

(2) Complete the Aviation Ordnanceman, Class A1 School.

(3) Must have normal color vision.

(4) Marines who handle explosives must meet the criteria to be qualified and certified as per MCO 8023.3.


(1) GySgt to Pvt: Performs duty under instruction.
